Strong lending relationships start with transparency. The Garrington Lending Perspective is our way of opening the door to how we lend, who we partner with, and what we stand for. Welcome to the first edition of our new blog, a behind-the-scenes look at Garrington.

This series is designed for professionals who facilitate deals, including investment bankers, commercial lenders, M&A advisors, business brokers, and legal professionals, among others. If you’re structuring transactions, navigating liquidity events, or helping businesses grow, this space is for you.

We’re not here to pitch. We’re here to share our approach, as asset-based lenders and as entrepreneurs who understand the nuances of funding businesses in today’s market.

Who We Are

Garrington Capital is one of North America’s most active alternative lenders.

Headquartered in Toronto, with a footprint across Canada and the U.S., our team of over 50 professionals delivers structured credit solutions across a broad range of industries.

Since inception, we’ve deployed more than $6 billion in working capital to thousands of businesses, primarily through asset-based loans, invoice factoring, equipment financing, lender finance, and other secured lending structures.

Our typical loan facilities range from $2 million to $30 million while factoring transactions start at $500,000.

We are, first and foremost, asset-based lenders. We work with businesses — and other lenders — that have tangible assets we can understand, value, and secure. Our underwriting is grounded in collateral and structure but shaped by real-world experience, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of deal dynamics.

We’re also entrepreneurs. We’ve been in the trenches of building and running companies. We understand the pressures, the pivot points, and the need for clarity when capital is at stake. That perspective shapes how we lend and how we work with the professionals who refer us.
